MegaDungeon: Survivor

World Of MegaDungeon: Survivor

In the beginning the Gods of Olde created the universe. From great balls of fire emerged stars and planets as they each moulded their part to reflect themselves. Out of this maelstrom the aspects of alignment grew and it is this reflection of the old gods that is their eternal mark.

But the world of MegaDungeon: Survivor was not marked so, it was done on a slightly cheaper special effects budget. Now there is only EVIL and NOT EVIL. You are not evil and thus must crush the evil that exists in the world. Evil is found everywhere, but mainly in dungeons out of the light of the purifying sun.

You know where to go, so get into that dungeon and starting kicking it out.

The History Of the Iron Stone Temple

The history of the Iron Stone Temple is long and dusty. But a very abbreviated version has been translated without the dwarfs knowledge and it is to this version that I direct you The Iron Stone Temple.

The Discovery of Cheapside, City of Thieves

During the first year of the refounding the Dwarves discovered the Legendary City of Cheapside. The city of thieves where life is cheap and prices are always falling, usually after being struck over the head or knifed in the back. Read the story of the discovery here.

The Challenge of Champions

Every year in Cheapside there is the Challenge of Champions and this year you get the opportunity to take part.

Character Guidelines

This campaign will only accept the great and the powerful, there is no requirement for the weak and feeble to apply. To ensure that this pedigree is maintained all characters are created using the following guidelines:

  • Method - Non-Standard Point Buy method (P169 Dungeon Masters Guide V3.5).
For MegaDungeon: Survivor the High-powered Campaign option is used with characters created from 32 points.
  • Characters - Any class or race from the Player's Handbook V3.5 as long as they are equivalent to third level.
  • Money - All characters start with maximum cash for their class. This can be used to buy regular equipment, there is no access to masterwork or magical equipment unless purchased directly from the Iron Stone Temple. (the convention where you are performing heroic deeds)
  • Hit Points - Because all of the players are heroes, starting hit points = Maximum hit points + Con Bonus/Penalty + 10. Now there are no excuses for anyone to flee the fight.
  • Guilds - The choice of guilds is limited by the class of the player. See the Guild section for details of the benefits of each guild.
  • Advancement - Advance the character to third level using the maximum allowable points as per the rules.
  • Character Sheets - All players for MegaDungeon: Survivor must use the official character sheet available here: MegaDungeon: Survivor: Character Sheet.

Guilds

At the Iron Stone Temple there are a number of guilds that the players may join if they wish. Membership is free and the benefits can be utilised straight away. However by joining a Guild you have made a contract with that Guild and must obey its requests, but I am sure they are honest and above board as you yourself are.

Find out more about the Guilds by clicking here: MegaDungeon: Survivor: Guilds

When and Where Can I Report for Duty?

MegaDungeon: Survivor will be back open for business at Gen Con UK 2005.

MegaDungeon: Survivor will be opening the Iron Stone Temple for the first time at Gen Con UK 2004. There was a test event at Excaliber 2004 where may heroes(?) started their (short) careers off.

Forums

The forums which will report the progress and details as they are discovered are the Gen Con UK 2004 Forums (follow the link to visit them).

You will be able to register at and access the offical forums for MegaDungeon: Survivor events. All announcements concerning the campaign will be made there. Log-on and boast of your killing blows.

Killing Blow Competition

It's not the taking part, but the taking apart that counts. He who makes the final killing blow gets the glory. Tales are told of heroes who slayed dragons not their companions who softened the dragon up beforehand. Be the subject of legend and not ridicule. Get all of the glory and become the Champion Slayer of 2005.

History of MegaDungeon the Event

The noble heritage that is MegaDungeon is charted here.
